Photographic Story

This was shot on a crisp November evening, showcasing the view of what the Milky Way looks like in the winter in Kansas. Teter Rock, the large rock in the foreground sits at the top of a hill east of Cassoday, just off the Kansas turnpike. It's a hidden gem in Kansas and has always been a great place to view the stars. It does seem like the light pollution from El Dorado to the southwest of Teter Rock has gotten worse.
