About the Photo
This shot has always been one of my favorites. I shot it when I was still learning photography. It's so unique, and totally not what I had planned to shoot that morning. On my last day in Rocky Mountain National Park of my Memorial Day 2008 trip, I had wanted a nice sunrise shot of Dream Lake. The weather had a completely different idea, so I made due with what I had. I was struck by how calm the water was and how peaceful the park was. Because of the foggy weather, no one seemed interested in hiking. The trails were completely deserted, which was fine with me, as I had this beautiful scene all to myself.
