About the Photo
On my very first fall trip to the Grand Tetons, I debated on where would be the best place to take my first sunrise shot. Eventually, I landed (no pun intended) at Schwabacher Landing. While the clouds did not quite light up, the light was still phenomenal! The alpine glow off of the famous sawtooth looking mountain range of the Tetons reflected perfectly in the beaver pond below. Autumn and winter truly collided in this scene, with golden trees in the distance, early season snow atop of the peaks and frost covered autumn grasses surrounding the pond.
