Photographic Story

This was my first ever visit to the Maroon Bells. It's easy to see why they're considered the most photographed mountains in the state. Even on a cold morning with clouds and horrible winds, the lake was lined with probably 100 photographers hoping to catch a glimple of alpineglow during fall color season. Many of the aspens had already shed their beautiful golden leaves in the days before, but a few trees still had a little color left. The classic scene of the Maroon Bells reflecting in a still Maroon Lake wasn't to be. The wind made the lake extremely choppy, but after cropping it out (along with the other countless photographers in view), the clouds and wintery weather actually made the quality panorama shot of the Bells you see above.
