Photographic Story

Located near Glenwood Springs in Glenwood Canyon, this little lake is a simple mile and a half moderate hike up the canyon. It is unique as the water color is unlike any other lake in Colorado. The shoreline of Hanging Lake is composed of travertine, giving it a clear aqua blue color that reminded me a lot of the lakes in parts of Switzerland. Other places known for travertine scenery are Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia and Huanglon scenic area of China.
