About the Photo
One of my all time favorite viewpoints in all of my travels is the Kalalau Lookout. The Kalalau Valley and the Pacific Ocean are 4,000 feet below. These sheer cliff walls are as rugged as they are beautiful. It is rare to get a sunset up here, as it is usually shrouded in fog and clouds. But sometimes things work out just right. Using some of the shubbery as foreground, I framed the mountain ridges and caught this beautiful sunset light. The clouds to the north of the island also lit up in pinks and oranges. This light only lasted a couple of minutes before clouds in the west obscured the light from hitting the cliffs. It was fleeting, but so beautiful!
